Access Bangladesh Foundation is looking for a qualified, dynamic, motivated and committed employee under the project titled ‘Making digital skills accessible for youth with disabilities and promoting their economic inclusion in Bangladesh’ supported by Internet Society Foundation. The project is a two year long project from 25th September 2023 to 24th September 2025 aims to improve the skills of 400 youth with disabilities through increasing participation in the digital skills platforms and enhancing the capacity of trainers of selected skills-providing agencies on inclusive skills practices. Besides, the project will also create self-employment opportunities through engaging 150 graduate learners in online marketplaces and e-commerce platforms and job placement of 50 graduate learners in the formal sector.

The organization has been working over the last 15 years to promote equity for persons with disabilities and other marginalized people in all spheres of life through education, training, employment, arts and culture, sports, legal services, health care, climate change and information and communication technology.

Education, Knowledge & Professional Experience

  • Master’s degree in Education, Business, Development Studies, B.Sc in Occupational Therapy, or any discipline of Social Sciences.
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven professional experience in a similar position in educational and employment-related projects and digital solutions particularly in the field of disability.

Additional Requirements

  • Age at most 45 years
  • Highly motivated and committed to work with persons with disabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of disability inclusion and development is preferable.
  • Proficient in project management, leadership, multitasking, facilitation, communication, presentation and report writing skills.
  • Excellent command of MS Office- MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English
  • Excellent understanding of digital learning environment, social media and educational apps is required
  • Willingness to travel outside the workstation for project-related activities

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the entire project as per design to achieve the project outcomes and ensure the project timely implementation of the project;
  • Prepare quality reports for the management, donor and other stakeholders;
  • Provide strategic, operational, and financial leadership to the project;
  • Develop a detailed plan to monitor and track the progress of the project and provide regular updates to the senior management team;
  • Review and develop an inclusive training curriculum and manual for training-providing agencies;
  • Manage project risks including the development of a contingency plan;
  • Manage project administration and financial aspects;
  • Develop and manage the relationship with selected digital skills-providing agencies and national stakeholders and other actors in the respective sector;
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation and ensure quality documentation of project learnings;
  • Conduct high-level workshops, seminars, trainings on disability inclusion for trainers and HR professionals;
  • Develop ToR for hiring consultants and assist in selecting the right consultant and ensure the assigned works are properly delivered by the consultants;
  • Facilitate in development of accessible website and apps related to learners and job seekers with disabilities
  • Develop a detailed project implementation plan (PIP) and strategy for efficient project implementation;
  • Support the program in periodic Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (PMEL) in liaison with other team members;
  • Coordinate with the donor to make sure project activities are delivered as per donor’s requirements;
  • Play a pivotal role in evidence-based policy advocacy discussion, networking, organizing job fairs and observing any events as per program activities;
  • Contribute to developing accessible information, education and communication materials related to the project and ensure disability inclusion;
  • Participate in relevant digital webinars, workshops, training events and other activities required by the project;
  • Get necessary government approvals when required for project implementation;
  • Field visits to project locations when required to ensure effective program implementation;
  • Perform and assist any other task as and when necessary for the interest of the organization.

Safeguarding

  • Focuses on self-awareness and behavior regulation according to organizational policy.
  • Maintain gender-sensitive and disability-inclusive approach in all stages of the project and safeguarding measures as per the code of conduct;
  • Ensuring safeguarding and PSEA issues at all levels and taking appropriate measures.

Salary

  • BDT 60,000 (Sixty thousand) only per month gross
  • Other benefits: One festival bonus, travel and mobile allowances
  • Weekly holiday-2 days
  • Salary review on a yearly basis
